Before we may enter the first layer of the Infernatus Pit, a long and tortuous journey must be made. The Pit is a dimension nature expels from its gaze, a mistake of creation, the imaginator of nightmares, the unknown fear that lurks all around us, and not. As the Universe grew older and older, the Crimson Scar the Infernatus tear left behind slowly started to fade, being healed over, nature attempting to conceal the Cosmic threat, but no matter how hard nature tried, nothing would truly destroy this wound. Failing its try to heal, the Universe created a lock, but one that'd have its security on a Galactic scale, one that would be capable of shutting away an entire Universe full of the pure defining act of evil. But every lock has a key... Should you travel that bit too far, should you find yourself at the bottom of the Universe, acts of violence, of pure rage and hatred seem... Normal, and only the willed shall resist the Universe's cry at its wound. Reaching the bottom of the Universe, hundreds of thousands, if not millions of black holes without orbit, yet perfectly aligned to the absolute can be found. Light should not exist of a natural accord, as was the will of the Universe, such a place should have the dark to meet its depiction.
For over a million creations of the most destructive forces in the Universe, only one is our doorway to Abaddon, for only one rests a world, ridden of light and rock as black as the void of Space we cannot see through... The planet is barren and harsh, should one venture unprepared and navigate through the grand clusters of black holes, the environment would surely be enough to overwhelm the ignorant. Fail to navigate the fields of black holes, consider your end a mercy gifted by the Atlas, your end shall not be as merciful as the Pit. If you hadn't already been consumed by the physical traumas and pressing insanity, your first glimpse of the terrors of the Infernatus Pit shall begin to hunt you... As the Atlas' and natures joint attempt to combat the Infernatus Pit, they took parts of the dimension to their own creations. While these creatures are to reveal what is to come, they were made as the Universe's first line of defence against the Infernatus Legions, and a final frontier to keep the travellers from opening the lock. Despite the attempt, once tainted by the Infernatus, none but the Infernatus may command their enslaved rebirth... The creatures still served their purpose to the Atlas, and were luckily chained to the forsaken world. We now welcome, the first line of Hell, the first terrors our travellers shall succumb to being fed for. The Haecrominus...
The hell now becomes inescapable, you have become as bound and chained as the creatures that roam, as is the protective will of the Universe. Upon your ships landing and first contact with the surface, the planet's rock shall drain your starships power, fuelling the intensity of the lock embedded into the Crimson Scar. Your only option now, is to move forward... The Haecrominus are not Gods, and you may be lucky enough to survive the planet's inhabitants. Deep within the planet, within a labyrinth of cave systems and endless caverns with abyssal drops, you must move through this maze... But not without one more catch to keep you on your toes... The Haeterras.
What they will do to you should you be caught is an act of such violence, may it never be described on script, less it be seen should your sanity be of value. They will hunt, and they will be quick about it, the only species to escape the Infernatus Pit, the first wave that was sent through to this dimension, only to be trapped upon this world ever since, growing their own hive within our Cosmos. But through all the caves and mazes of unmappable caverns, at the heart of the planet, a monolith of magnificent towering looms over the viewer. In its centre a bowl resides, an offering is demanded, what will you do after travelling so far to the door, but no key to open it...
"At its tormented heart, atop the hearth, may our Lords be summoned by the gift of what is already theirs. What was, what is, what always has been theirs to have. Gift them with it, gift them to open the way to our immortality!"
Should the offering be accepted, the weight of what the traveller has done will be felt. They will feel the chaos of a world collapsing in on them if they are not torn apart by the closing black holes that surround them. To those watching from afar, they will see the black holes move together and converge upon the damned world. A huge collapse of all things creating the largest expelling of the Cosmos to unlock the gateway to Hell. With all the black holes together, they will form the Crimson Scar, and the way to Haefarus will open. The traveller will feel the tear of a million black holes upon them, they will be tortured by the collapse of a planet, all while knowing the inescapable consequences of their actions, but death is not their reward, they have unveiled the wormhole, they will be banished to where they have fought so hard to get to. Within a snap of their fingers, the blinding light of explosive energy released, the lock resets, and to those every gazing outside, shall be none the wiser to what had transpired... Or let us hope.
The traveller has gone to the Infernatus Pit, to never return and either to be fill the ranks of the demonic Legions, or become a plaything for the torture games its inhabited demons shall play eternally, or perhaps even both. But be wary of what you open, a key hole shows on both sides, very similar for a wormhole, and if you can open it one way so can it be from the other side... Long, long ago, a particular traveller opened up the gateway to the Infernatus Pit, and gazed into Haefarus, the first layer. But they were greeted rather than sent through the eternal pain of punishment the Cosmos gifts you. However, to be greeted can be taken as a more personal pleasure, do not be so hasty as to believe your greeting is always a kind offer of acceptance, for you will be up to judgement by him, the guard at the gates, the first Lord, the Gatekeeper, welcome to Infernatus... Welcome Lord Haefarus!
